About Rusty DB369
Meet Rusty.
Rusty is a pleasure to be around, he is house trained and knows all the basic commands such as sit, stay/wait, paw, down, flat, roll over, at feeding times he will sit and wait until told to eat. He is a very affectionate dog with me, he loves cuddles, belly rubs, kisses and snuggles on the sofa and will get into bed with jos foster mum once her partner leaves for work. He enjoys fuss off others, just not too much.
He is great on leash with a halti, although he isn’t a massive fan of it and does on occasion try to get it off; he’s a working progress with just a collar and leash but is getting better.
Rusty has a HUGE personality and if something isn’t going quite his way then he will let you know about it - there's a lot of huffing, puffing and grumbling and on occasion has been known to sulk, this is usually over quite trivial things such as foster mum not sharing her gingerbread man! He’s a very happy dog and just loves being wherever his people are, he LOVES rolling around in the grass, he’s quirky, his favourite toys are his tuggy’s, with little interest in any other toys such as balls or squeakies. You will be expected to play a lot of tuggy!!!
He enjoys being outside when at home, he will happily lie in the sun or snooze on the outdoor furniture if there are people over.
Rusty will bond extremely closely to one person. Ideally, this person would be keen to do activities with Rusty like obedience, agility, sniffer dog, etc as he’s extremely intelligent and trainable with the right approach.
He has two 45 minute walks a day OR 1 x 20 minute walk and a play date or ‘day out’. Rusty is also well behaved at cafes and will sit quietly.
Rusty is still learning doggie social skills and will need to be the only pet. Outside of the house he’s happy for a pat from strangers, and will sniff and say hello to other dogs on their leash. He has a friend called Nella who is a Maltese x Shih tzu (female) and they get on great.
He’s a very handsome and willing boy who with the right person will be a brilliant dog; he’s eager to please and has heaps of love to give. His foster parents captured him perfectly by describing him as a teenager, he’s just left his puppy years and is adjusting to life as an adult and now has the upheaval of being moved around. This wonderful little guy really deserves another chance of having a family to call his own, someone who can dedicate time to him, understands his quirks and give a big cuddle to at the end of the day.
Rusty in 5 words (3 didn’t seem suffice) Intelligent, determined, loyal, quirky, and handsome.
** Essential Criteria: Rusty must be the only dog **
