About Piper ~ Ridgeback x (on trial 16/6/18)
Meet Piper, she is a stunning 5 to 6 month old Ridgeback X puppy. Piper is a sweet little girl who came into care after a not very great start to life. In good care, she gained weight and is now looking a picture of health. She has a lovely short coat which is easy to care for.
Piper is a smart girl who loves her toys and playing chasing and wrestling with her big foster brother. Piper is a quick learner, she is rapidly picking up sit, wait to eat and shake. Walking on a lead is coming along nicely so is housetraining and other basic commands. Piper is learning to use a doggy door and happily sleeps in a crate overnight.
Piper is a friendly girl and gets so excited that she does jump up but is quickly learning that she gets more attention when she sit, so family with older children would be better suited. Piper will need a home committed to continuing her training. She would love a family who incorporates her into their lives from cuddles inside to weekend adventures. Once she is
older and fully developed she will make a great running partner as she is superfast & very energetic. A secure yard with tall fencing is needed and she is good at alerting you to strange noises.
Piper would need to be welcome inside while her humans are at home and to sleep inside until at least until fully grown. She will grow to be a medium sized dog. Piper can get a bit upset when her humans leave, so would like a fur friend to keep her company or someone who is home a lot. Piper loves to follow people around the house and gets along well with other dogs after her excitement settles. We are unsure about cats and pocket pets.
For more information or to meet Piper, please send the adoption questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx to her foster carer Jodi on jodideamer@gmail.com. Piper is in foster care in Port Stephens, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Piper’s adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
