About Tara 💖
Introducing Tara....a stunning Border Collie x Kelpie who loves an active, fun lifestyle. She is currently in care with 4 other dogs who she adores, and also a cat who she is a little shy around....
This girl is a fast learner! Not surprising though, given her mix. The Border Collie and Kelpie breeds are two of the most intelligent of all breeds. Her love for toys (especially fluffy toys and balls) is intense and her loyalty is outstanding. At just 9 weeks of age, Tara had 'sit' and 'drop' commands mastered in just 10 minutes.
If you're looking for a dog that is medium sized...has an easy groom coat...is athletic and thrives on tons of exercise and training....is exceptionally intelligent and versatile - when well trained, they can learn and do almost anything....will play fetch for hours, we encourage you to meet Tara :)
Tara would benefit from having a larger, older dog in her new home. Someone who could keep up with her playful antics, someone to play chase with, rumble with and receive guidance from. She is an extremely active little girl, so a senior companion would not cope well with her playful energy. If she was to be an only dog, she would need continued socialisation with other dogs during her puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that she grows up to be a well mannered, socialised young lady.
We would love to help get you started with that, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina (Central Coast), have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘stay’, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppy’s not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Tara will have all her vet work complete by Friday 25th May and will be all ready to head off to her forever home this coming weekend. She is located in Chittaway Bay on the Central Coast NSW.
