About Junior ~ 9mo Kelpie X (On Trial 20/8/18)
Junior is a 9 month old Kelpie x who is adorable and energetic boy. He has very long legs and cute floppy ears and a beautiful shiny coat. Junior is living with another Kelpie x who is 4 years old with no problems - they love their morning plays and sleep together in the same kennel at night, they sleep outside. We do feed them separately as Junior is still learning to have good manners at dinner time.
Junior is in good health and doesn’t appear to have any problems. He is still a puppy and does get excited so will jump up on you or visitors but usually calms down in a few minutes. Junior has not had much experience on the lead and would need some further training to make it more enjoyable. He is pretty much house trained with no recent accidents. Junior is good with our teenage children and they love him, although he may not be suitable for little ones as he may knock them over in his excitement.
Junior has been untested with pocket pets and cats but this can be arranged. He can sit but is still working on the “outside” command as he loves to be indoors with us. He is a very affectionate dog who loves to give you kisses and just wants to be with you, really needs a family that would include him in their lives. Junior will sit with you on the lounge, have a sleep with you and just wants to be near you. He is still a bit timid, doesn’t like getting in trouble and some loud noises scare him (like motorbikes or the hose).
We haven’t had him off the leash so he will need work and training on his recall. Junior is very happy to go for walks and generally seems to love other dogs. He will bark if he wants to come in I am training him in that area, but will stop barking after I go to see him. Junior doesn’t seem to fret as he has Sam here but of course is very glad to see us when we do get home.
Junior is a very affectionate and loving dog with a beautiful nature and is lots of fun. His ideal home would be with kids maybe a bit older 10+ that will exercise and play with him or a young active couple that have plenty of love to give as he will lap that up.
For more information or to meet Junior, please contact his foster carer Ann-Maree on 0411 700 821 or annmaree64@hotmail.com Junior is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
