About Spike (AV1021)
HEY THERE! I'm Spike and I'm just a super friendly lovable goofball. You can see it in my pictures, really. I'm in the market for a new family so I'm going to tell you a bit about myself to see if I might be your paw-fect match!
I'm around 9 months old so I'm just a babe. I have plenty of energy but I'm also a super affectionate cuddle bunny so when I'm worn out I love to snuggle. I'm a medium-sized lad - as you can see I'm a muscle fella with a big broad chest but I'm around 22kg and probably won't do too much more growing now so I'm the ideal size, really.
Likes:
- PEOPLE! You guys are the best. Like, you hang out with me, walk me, feed me, train me... what's not to love?? I'll be fine with kids too!
- other dogs. Man I love to play and playing with other dogs is pretty great. I might be a bit too umm... "in your face" for some dogs though! If I'm going to be living with another pooch, it would be best if they were similar to me in size and energy levels! If I'm going to be your one and only, it's important that you keep up my socialisation with other dogs in appropriate settings.
- food. I'm a dog, this kinda goes without saying but I thought I'd drop it in so you don't forget.
- walks and exercise. Do you need a new personal trainer or someone to motivate you to get out there? Or maybe you already walk every day and need some company? Anyway I have energy to spare so daily walks are a must!
- learning! I haven't had anyone to teach me much in my short life but I am very eager to please and keen to learn so training sounds awesome.
- cuddles. Who doesn't love cuddles, really? Mmm, I can't wait to have my very own family to snuggle with!
- car rides, though I prefer to be riding shotgun please.
Dislikes:
- being in this kennel! The people here are really super nice and they love me lots, but it's kinda not the same as a family, is it?
- boredom. I'm active in both mind and body so I'll need both physical exercise and chances to use my brain (training and food enrichment puzzles are two ways you can keep my mind busy!)
- being left alone for LOOONG periods of time. See my point above - I just love people and I don't like to be bored so I don't want to be by myself all the time. Having another dog for company would be cool, or a home where someone works part-time. Or full time would be okay as long as we definitely get to spend lots of time together when you aren't working! I know you do have to go out to work and earn money and all so I'm not gonna say you can't work at all. (Even though I'm sure we would both be happy with that!)
So how does all that sound to you? I'm a real ripper of a dog. Oh and did I also mention how handsome I am?
Don't delay, come and meet me today.
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
