About Willis *On Trial in His New Home*
*WILLIS IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME* Meet Willis! He’s a sweet, middle-aged gentleman who is described by his foster mum as “simply adorable”. He’d be happy to share his forever home with another little dog if his humans worked full-time; will it be with you?
Rescued from Broken Hill pound we didn’t know anything about him, not even his name but he’s fitted in well into foster care with two similar aged little dogs plus a couple of cats and they all get along like a house on fire; he’s even getting the hang of the name we gave him:- “what you talkin’ about Willis???”….not that he’s much of a talker as a matter of fact his carer rarely hears him bark – he’s not at all yappy or in your face.
Willis is a social little dog who had a lovely time recently interacting with all sorts of dogs and humans at our SARG Paws Along the Murray walk; he enjoyed lapping up the pats and attention. And when he’s at home he loves nothing more than chilling with his foster carer on the couch if he can get away with it!
Enjoy some video of Willis doing his adorable dance that he’ll do for treats: https://youtu.be/RN0AqczIL0U
Weighing in at a healthy 7.4kgs Willis is a terrific ‘take-anywhere’ size and travels well in a car. Being what we assume is a Maltese x Shih Tzu Willis doesn’t lose any hair though he’ll require a good brush once a week and a clip a few times a year to keep his coat in tip-top condition. He is fairly low maintenance only needing a short walk or run around the backyard to use up his energy.
Loveable Willis sleeps inside at night usually in a doggie bed in his carer’s bedroom, and while in care he has learnt to use a doggie door, so we would want his indoor / outdoor lifestyle to continue in his forever home.
So if you reckon you’ve got room in your heart and your home for charming Willis then please download and complete a SARG Dog Application form by following this link: http://www.sarg.net.au/adopt-a-pet/
Medical notes
Willis is desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated and wormed.
He’s also had his teeth scaled and polished plus 2 removed.
Weight: 7.4kgs. DOB: 28/03/11.
Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
