Woof! My name is Benny.
I know what you are thinking, how does a good lookin' fella like myself end up in the shelter environment? Well, I have been wondering the same thing. One minute I was warm and cosy in my owners home, next minute I find myself at Blue Cross. Luckily, the staff and volunteers at Blue Cross have given me lots of TLC to help me settle in!
I am an older gentleman, but I most definitely still have a lot of love to give. I am looking for a relatively quiet household, one that understands I am slowing down a bit in my senior years. Ideally, I am after full time to part time care, so I am not suitable for full time workers or for a family that will be leaving me home for long periods.
I have met some doggie friends here at the shelter, so would be fine to live with another dog if the personalities match. I would also be fine to live on my own and receive all the attention. I have been doing positive reinforcement training with the staff at Blue Cross and they say I have good manners and a good recall, however they would love to find a family who can continue this training and enrichment with me.
I will need regular exercise, but nothing too vigorous. I will also need regular grooming to keep me looking as handsome as I do.
I am currently recovering from a back injury, so for the time being need to be kept quiet with minimal activity. This also means that if you own another dog and wish to meet me, the staff at Blue Cross will need to schedule you an appointment after my recovery period.
Do you think you can be my forever family? Please give Blue Cross a phone call to arrange an appointment to meet me. Woof!
