About Chip ~ 4 year old Shar Pei x (on trial 23/5/2018)
I’d like you to meet Chip, he’s a 4 year old Shar Pei cross. I wouldn’t be surprised if the cross bit is Labrador which would explain his size, build and colouring.
Chip is a big boy with such a gentle soul who is a snugglebug that loves nothing more than to sit at your feet and lean in for a pat, a scratch and a whole heap of loving.
Chip enjoys trips to the dog park, he travels well in the car and enjoys meeting new friends both four and two legged. He has shown no aggression towards any dogs, cats or people and he’s met quite a few different ones while he’s been with me.
Chip also loves going for a walk, he does forget his manners and pull a bit at the start but with a bit of guidance settles down quite nicely and will walk well, but please don’t forget to stop and check out the smells around the trees.
Chip is quite an obedient boy who will sit when told, stay and wait most of the time and knows to go out when told. He has lovely manners and does not jump up on people, he will bark if there is something around that he thinks you should know about or if you are too slow going out to say hello when you get home.
Chip has a very patient and tolerant nature which he has shown time and time again when faced with a pesky four legged foster sister who doesn’t always get the hint that he’s not interested in wrestling.
He is currently living and sleeping outside but would love to be inside when his people are home but he will need some training to stop lifting his leg on the furniture. He is so eager to please I can’t see this being too much of a problem.
For more information or to meet Chip, please contact his foster carer Joanne on joyoung2172@gmail.com Chip is in foster care in Killarney Vale, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Chip’s adoption fee is $300 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
