About Hildy D3868 - Adoption Pending
Hey there! Hildy here! I’m loving being in foster care! There are 4 other dogs here and I just LOVE to play with them. When I first got to my foster home, I was so desperate to play with one of the other dogs, I kept jumping over him until he played with me! I have so much energy and need lots of exercise, so someone who will be able to take me on lots of walks will be perfect!
Here are some things my foster carer had to say about me: “Hildy is the sweetest pup on the planet! She is so gentle, loves to cuddle ALL DAY. Loves belly rubs and attention. So loving and a very trustworthy girl. She is toilet trained and sits and waits for food. Loves new people.
Walks very well on the lead and does not need a harness. Very good off the lead at the park and the beach. Comes when called and never runs far away ( she runs about 20m then circles back to hurry me along, it’s super cute haha) However I only take her off the lead when there aren’t any other dogs near. I make sure we are always 100m at least from other dogs because she doesn’t like some dogs. She isn’t aggressive if another dog comes to say hello then leaves, but if the other dog sticks around, sometimes she gets a bit snappy. In this case I just call her over, she comes to me and I put her on the lead and walk away and ask the other dog owner to take his/her dog away from us. I think this would be avoided if she was introduced to other dogs by a behaviouralist or someone who knows how to properly introduce dogs. She is incredibly submissive to people. She is genuinely such an angel and I love having her in my home. She is so well behaved and so full of love, she brings so much happiness into my life.”
I’m confident around new people and LOVE attention! I get a bit sooky if I don’t get heaps of loves from my carers. It’s just SO nice to be loved! I would do best in a home where I am not left alone for too long, or one where there is another dog so I can still be social while you’re out. I also get a bit over excited when I see you and tend to jump up so a home with older kids would be best.
WORKING DOGS
All dogs need a lot of care but we working breed dogs just generally need more of it :) And that is part of the fun for you and me! We’ll develop an amazing bond because of what we do together and I’ll be the most loyal, devoted dog ever! I will rely on you to:
1 Exercise me
2 Provide enrichment activities
3 Be consistent with your boundaries
4 Train me
5 Socialise me
I CAN FLY!
A few hours flying to Perth is absolutely worth it for animals who are located remotely if it means we have the opportunity to be adopted. A dog’s airfare to Perth is generally around $150. Travel costs are negotiable and never get in the way of a good match up!
