About April R048
Hi there! I'm April Bunny. I'm a mature lady looking for a nice quiet home to relax in. My last owners left myself and Remy Rat behind in their back yard when they relocated. We are both so well behaved that neither of us even thought to run away! Luckily two lovely ladies found us and took us to SAFE so now we have a second chance!
I'm currently living with a small family with a toddler and my foster friends Remy Rat and Nibbles the guinea pig. Remy is a little active for me but NIbbles and I get along great!
My foster family let me run around the house but I don't venture far; I like to stay close. I have great manners. I don't bite or scratch and I let the toddler give me pats. I'm quiet too; you'll never have to worry about me barking or making a racket. And with the expected lifespan of pet rabbits being 8-12 years, I've got plenty of loving to give!
*SPECIAL DEAL*
Ask SAFE about the special deal they can offer if you adopt me with my friend, Nibbles the Guinea Pig.
CARING FOR A BUNNY
Want to know how to keep a bunny happy? Rabbits need a calm, stress free environment, so we suit adult owners or gentle children. I would like to spend most of my time with my Loved Ones, with just a bit of outside time if it’s good weather. We don’t cope well with heat, so when it’s hot, please leave me inside with the air conditioner on. A healthy rabbit diet includes good quality hay, vegetables, leafy greens, fruit, seeds, roots and herbs. I would be so excited if you build playground tunnels for me - with different levels to jump on, hide away and to dig in and especially if you change it around from time to time. Sticks and bark are great to chew on. It will be important for me to have at least four hours a day to roam freely around the house or bunny secured yard. I'd also like you to help with my grooming - a gentle brush, and a daily wipe under my chin and dewlap (the fatty fold under my chin). The dewlap is usually larger in females. Its purpose is so we can pluck out some of the hair to line our nests for any babies that are coming - but the vet has made sure there won't be any more babies for me :)
