About Sonny ~ Kelpie X (on trial 30/6/2018)
Meet Sonny, a very handsome and lovable 4 year old Kelpie boy. Sonny is very affectionate and always got a smile no matter what. He is currently in foster with two other Kelpies, one male and one female and they all get along very well.
Sonny hasn't had the benefit of early training but is catching up now and learning his basic manners very quickly. He can sit and stay when asked and is working on lay down. He knows his name well and will almost always respond. He is house trained. He can be a little nervous when meeting new dogs but soon makes friends. He loves the company of another dog and would suit a home with another dog to keep him busy during the day.
Because of his small size, Sonny would be suited to a family with children of all sizes. However being a kelpie, he will also require plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Sonny is a lot more easy going than your typical energetic kelpie. He can happily curl up with you and do nothing for most of the day. All he is looking for your time and affection. This lovable boy is looking for a forever home for him to grow up with a family that loves him dearly.
Sonny spends his time outside whilst I'm away at work during the day. Most nights he sleeps outside with the exception of special treatment on weekends when he can sleep inside. In winter he'll need to sleep inside or have a coat and kennel undercover outside.
If you have any further questions or would like to meet with Sonny, please don't hesitate to message his foster carer Hayden at haydenrbell@hotmail.com Sonny is currently located at his foster home in Raymond Terrace, NSW vicinity and is available for adoption interstate.
Sonny’s adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
