About Duchess & Walter
Duchess & Walter
Duchess is the most beautiful and gentle dog. Duchess has been well socialized with other dogs including her 'brother' Walter and two cousins (A lab and a doberman). She has been taken to the dog park regularly and walks almost perfectly on lead (still working on it). Duchess is such an impressive and smart dog who won most obedient at puppy preschool. As of lately she has become quite afraid and fearful of strangers and requires lots of reassurance and praise while we are on our walks. That seems to be the only issue she has, other than that she walks beautifully at your side on lead. Due to her being fearful at the moment, she has become quite a barker. It's not constant but does happen often in the early morning although she currently lives on a corner block so it could have to do with that. She lives with two children, a very mature but cuddley 7 year old girl and a very rough 3 year old. Duchess is amazing with both of them. She would do well in just about anyone's family as long as they have time to include her in all of their activities. Duchess can sit on command and wait very well as well as cuddles. With some encouragment she can go down, roll over and dance. Duchess sits and waits beautifully at feeding time, she shows no signs of aggression at all and has been pulled at and pushed at dinnertime as well as had her food removed and hands in bowl to train her to not be food aggressive.
Walter is a typical Labrador. He loves food (you have to be careful or he will become overweight). He is definetly in the puppy phase still and will chew everything! He absolutely LOVES LOVE. This dog would follow you into a fire. He completely trusts people and would do just about anything for a cuddle. My kids have rolled around on him and he loves it. He is unaware how big he is and will just drop his whole weight down on you for a tummy rub. He is not the best to walk yet, he still pulls on lead but with direction is learning quickly. He will walk at your side but for some reason likes to lean on you when he walks. He is unafraid of anything so far, he loves dogs and people. He has also been well socialized with dogs and kids and loves them all equally. Walter has had many trips to the dog park and always finds friends. He would suit anyone that has time to love him. Walter can sit very well. He also waits (but can't stop wriggling sometimes) and will come up for cuddles when asked too. Every feeding time Walter sits and waits for food.. if you make him! and will take food from you gentley with the command 'gentle'. Walter also shows no signs of aggression at all and has been pulled at and pushed at dinnertime as well as had his food removed and hands in bowl to train him to not be food aggressive.
They are both beautiful, loving, trainable dogs and are being rehomed with much sadness as the family no longer live in a home where they can have dogs. They are looking for a home TOGETHER as they have been together since pups and are the best of friends.
