About Crumbs *Medical Considerations*
Mr Crumbs here, also known affectionately as Crumble Bum. I am on the hunt for my forever home. I would like to describe myself as ‘wise’ and ‘experienced’ (truth be told I’m a gorgeous older gentleman, about 12 years old). I am looking for a paradise to spend the next few years and make the best of the rest of my time.
I love my lamb chops, love’y cuddles together on the couch and little smooches on my snout, my morning and Afternoon Ham (which unbeknownst to me is spiked with my tablets), sleeping in and dancing for you when you have just returned home.
I thoroughly dislike the cream that I need on my nose twice daily– but I know I have to deal with it.
Although I call prefer to call myself ‘experienced’ rather than elderly, I haven’t had a vast life experience. From what SHARI knows of me, I somehow found myself in a pound at 4 years old then spent the next 8 years of my life with a family, who, as the hustle and bustle of life became more and more, sadly did not have much time for me. When time came for them to move home, the plan was not for me to come with them. I lived most of my life under the house in the dirt.
So I found myself at SHARI. I came with nasty wounds and a seriously sore nose, but more on that in my Medical Notes.
I am looking for my forever mate. I imagine myself sitting in the shed with my old bud while we tinker the day away, or on the floor of a kitchen, watching the new woman in my life prepare delicious treats. Sometimes I imagine that we are a couple who likes to take the caravan out on trips, exploring Australia. I do love the car. And as I mentioned, I didn’t have much adventure in my life up until now so perhaps the odd road trip could make up for lost time.
I was always kept outside, but do not let that fool you, I LOVE being inside with my humans. Foster Ma also believes that I should spend the vast majority of my day inside also, as she finds the sun can set the healing on my nose back quite quickly. I LOVE my little walks, but I prefer them when the sun is down, or along a shaded path during the cool of the day. You don’t need to be a marathon runner! I only want to take a leisurely stroll around the blocks, less than a kilometre would suit me fine as my old legs can tire easily.
I will admit it, I am a shedder – but that is a small flaw in what is otherwise perfection. Be prepared that I will leave evidence of my love in the way of furry tumbleweeds that collect in the corners. I love a good brushing twice a week which helps with my shedding. I also take fortnightly baths. Ma finds I get a little bit oily (not much) and she likes to spoil me.
My foster Ma is going to make sure that I find the perfect forever home, where I am the first priority, with someone who is patient and attentive to my ongoing condition and medical requirements and who is prepared to show me the best of what life has to offer. She would prefer I be an only dog. I don’t have the best socialization with other dogs and depending on the other dog’s temperament, we may butt heads. I can be stubborn, so unless the other dog is willing to respect my enormous wisdom and allow me to be the King of the Castle, we simply will not get on. But as an only dog, you can be assured that I will have eyes only for you, and vice versa, you for me.
SO what about it? Let’s start planning our next adventure! Or maybe just share a ham sandwich and catch the breeze for now. We will cuddle on the couch tonight, have a sleep in, and start planning tomorrow.
Crumbs is located in Alex Hills, QLD.

Medical notes
Crumbs is desexed, vaccinated (apart from live vaccines) & microchipped.
Crumbs will need an adopter who is committed to ongoing care to assist with the treatment and management of his lupus. There is a photo in his profile which shows the state that he was surrendered in (untreated) with a side-by-side of his condition two months later (with twice daily committed care). One day without his treatment can set him back a week of slow progress.
Crumbs has an extensive medical waiver that is available on application to potential adopters.
Adoption details
ADOPTION:
To meet, adopt or find out more details on this animal, please fill in our adoption application at our website- http://www.safehavenanimalrescueinc.com
Completing this application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
2. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
3. The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 2 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
4. 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from foster carer.
5. Adoption is finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
