Canny

Canny is an adorable little girl who is really making the most of her changed circumstances. Since coming into foster care with a bunch of other dogs from 8 weeks to 13 years she has blossomed in her social skills both with the other dogs and with humans. She loves to play with all the dogs and they seem to really like her. She also loves her toys and is not too destructive with them. She is doing well with her housetraining and most of the time is crated overnight near her carer. She goes through the night to the early morning quite well now, without needing toileting. Her preferred sleeping arrangement is cuddled up to a human though! Canny knows her name and comes when she is called. She is great off lead, and loves to explore around the place.

Canny came to us from Canteen Creek, surrendered to the Vets when they were doing the de-sexing program. She was in quite poor condition when we got her but has picked up beautifully and looks wonderful now. We thought initially that she was the same age as the 10 week puppies but it turns out that she has most of her adult teeth, so is probably 5-6 months old now. At this point she is a good weight at 5.7 kilos, so she will not be very big when fully grown.

Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Canny's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Canny is currently in foster care in Adelaide and approved applicants can arrange to meet her.
