About Sunday
Sunday is a very sweet natured and playful young lady. She plays very nicely with dogs of all ages and all sizes, and particularly loves chasey and wrestling games. She also loves to play with humans and is expert at chasing, catching and retrieving balls. Sunday is a very fit and athletic dog and is able to be let off lead - she can be relied to keep an eye on you and come back when she is called. She just loves an off lead run, particularly if water is involved (being her favourite thing). She is well trained and loves to sit and shake hands. Sunday can pull on a normal lead but walks very nicely with her Canny Collar on (which is a gentle leader). She is a 21 kilo dog but has extra long legs, so is quite tall for her weight.
Sunday came to us through the Tennant Creek Pound. She was taken there by the Police after being confiscated from her owner for cruelty. As a result it has taken her a while to settle down and relax, but we use her commands to take her mind of things when she gets anxious, and that works well. We would love to see her go to a home with another playful energetic dog, and an owner who would continue her training and expose her to lots of interesting walks both on and off lead.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Sunday's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Sunday is currently in foster care in Elliott NT.
Adoption details
We request that prospective adopters email us with an initial enquiry. We will forward an application form. On receipt of the application form, we will make phone contact to discuss the adoption. We try hard to match the dog to the person, ultimately looking for the best fit for the dog. Shipping fees are included in the adoption fee. We ship from Alice Springs airport to interstate homes.
