About Nova
Nova (formally Lavander) was born here at SMART after her mother was surrendered to us 16 months ago.
Nova now needs a new home.
She is a 16 month old Great Dane x. Nova has anxiety issues and needs a quiet understanding home.
The best home for Nova would be...Childless (at least for a few years until she can be trained)
Female only (or a female with a very patient male partner) especially someone looking for a companion and guard dog.
Someone with alot of time for her and experience with training a big dog.
She is great with other dogs (just boisterous - will accidentally squish them), can be walked on a halti/harness but will get very scared if she sees someone she doesn't know or and object she hasn't seen.
She loves playing ball and tug of war - all she ever wants to do is play with you.
Her owner not for a second believes she would intentionally harm a child but she has created such an attachment to her owner that she will refuse her children to go near her. It is for that reason that they have decided to try to find her a new home.
Please contact us if you are interested and would like more information.
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. Just phone us on 0428491492 (please call before 8:00 pm) and have a chat, no long drawn out forms.
Even though you may be first to call, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
