About Patches ~ Cairn Terrier X (on trial 5-5-2018)
Patch is a 7 year old, male Cairn Terrier x. If you want an energetic companion to spend time with then Patch is your boy!
Patch was recently surrendered into care as the new puppy in his house was not getting along with him. Patch currently resides with 5 other dogs, two very large Bull Mastiffs, two smaller Foxie X's, and a Maltese X Chihuahua. They get along really well, so Patch does not have issues with making new friends.
Patch came to us with no formal training, I’m not sure he’d even been on a lead or taken on walks. Patch has been working hard on his basic obedience training and with a dedicated new family to continue his training, he will only blossom into a fantastic family dog.
Patch is learning that affection is a wonderful thing to receive and needs to be reminded not to get too excited. He will lay at your feet begging for more pats.
Patch is happy to be outside during the day. At first he was hesitant to come inside but is learning this can be a safe place too. Patch is learning to be an inside dog and therefore is learning to be house trained. He may need some ongoing reminding since he was an outside dog.
For more information or to meet Patch, please contact his foster carer Joanne on designer.stable@bigpond.com Patch is in foster care in Dora Creek, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Patches’ adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
