About Oscar
Single dog home.
Obedience school a must.
Hi my name is Oscar, I have been much loved and part of a family all my life. I am an inside dog and as such sleep inside either in my bed in the lounge or on my blanket on someone’s bed. I love being around people and this is what I am used to. Even when they are out I am allowed to stay inside. I am toilet trained and very well behaved even when left alone.
I have some funny traits which will make you love me even more; I walk backwards into rooms sometimes, I try to talk to you like other Staffords and people think I look young for my age! I like to let you know when it’s my breakfast and dinner time.
Sometimes I don’t know my strength around small children even though I like them. I am very friendly with people but sometimes jump up when a new person arrives, though I quickly settle.
I like to go on walks twice a day in the morning and afternoon. Sometimes I bark at other dogs I meet along the way. Usually I don’t pull on my lead so that’s a good thing! I love to go in the car because that often means we are going to the beach or a park. I even hang my head out the window. If dogs rush up to me at the park I don’t like it, so please don’t let that happen.
I'm not very well behaved around other dogs when I'm on the lead so I need an experienced dog owner.
I can get a bit spooked by loud noises like thunder and fireworks but I have a Thunder Vest that calms me a bit. You will need to look after me if I hear these loud noises. I know a couple of words; “sit’ ‘bed’ ‘breakfast’ ‘dinner’ and ‘shake.
I really need to go to obedience school so if you’re not willing to do that then please don’t apply for me.
So, if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above, and in return I’ll give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for, please go to www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au. Here you will find all the information on the Adoption page, as well as links at the bottom.

If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to
http://www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/index.php/adoption-forms-6
and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan at jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every week to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
