About Baylee
Please apply at - http://www.startingoverdogrescue.org.au/adoption--expression-of-interest-form.html
As with all puppies he is very active and inquisitive. Baylee is quickly learning skills. He can sit, lie down and he will for his food upon command. We are learning more skills every day. He is a quick learner and is motivated by food, so further puppy training is recommended as Baylee can be easily distracted (as all puppies can be). Baylee walks on the lead nicely, but again, can be easily distracted when we come across other people and dogs out walking.
Baylee is very good with other dogs, loves a good run around and a bit of rough and tumble with other likeminded dogs. He has met cats and is ok on lead, but he loves to chase (dogs as well) so would require some work to understand how to behave around cats, and that they are not up for a 'play'.
Baylee is such an affectionate dog. He has bonded with both humans and dogs of our family. This is both a blessing in that he is calm and responsive in and around you, but he can have a little separation anxiety. It seems he fears being left behind, even with the other dogs so you would address this and reassure him he is in a safe and stable home. I think that his anxiety will probably diminish as he learns your routine and trusts that you will return.
Baylee is a puppy - a very big puppy, and can be a little mischievous. He loves his toys but will find other ‘toys’ to chew (such as shoes or hats) so it is imperative that all items are put away out of reach. Which being so tall, this means away in cupboards or drawers. We have found him on top of our BBQ, looking in the window into our kitchen when he has been left outside.
Overall, Baylee is such a lovely guy. His forever owners should take him to school to learn how all good dogs should behave and I also think this will help with his energy levels. Baylee needs a morning and evening walk and loves to be around you, so perhaps something like Fly-ball would be beneficial. He would be best suited to a family with a similar energy level and maybe a dog of a similar age and energy level. You’ll never feel unloved with Baylee in your household.
