About Fred
Bring Out The Trumpets and Dancing Girls .. Fred is Adoption Ready :-)
Little Fred is a huge part of the Mini Rescue Family and so many hearts are both excited and a touch emotional that the time has finally arrived to find him his happy ever after.
For those not in the know, Fred is just under 3 years old and is a tiny long haired Jack Russell x (approx. 5kg)
However do not let his tiny body fool you, this boy is no lightweight when it comes to love and personality.
Fred arrived from death row at a rural pound some months ago and very quickly earned himself the nickname “Frequent Flyer Fred” due to his amazing ability to squeeze through the tiniest of gaps and head off at lightning speed on adventures – he was not in Kansas anymore and he loved it!
But fate had a trick up her sleeve for this little Houdini – a luxating patella that would require major surgery to fix. How this little man had jumped and run at breakneck speed for so long is testament to his spirit and determination.
Fast forward a few months and after major surgery and a long slow recovery.. The pins are out and he is as good as new (sill a few bald patches to grow back but for now they only add to his gorgeous quirky charm).
His wild adventurous spirit seems to have calmed and he has become a snuggly home bunny. He lives with dogs and cats and loves them all.. But he loves his foster mum most
He is sweet, loving, cheeky and a little bit quirky .. He is simply "Our Wonderful Fred"
We have a saying in the foster world “You let them go because you love them so” and Fred’s foster mum knows that he needs and is ready for his family now.. and while it will break her heart (and ours) to see him go there are more Fred’s out there that need her.
So our wish list for this very special boy is simple:
Someone who is home a lot as he gets scared if left alone too long
A quiet household – preferably no young children as his tiny leg will always be more fragile than it was.
A big sofa or chair that he is allowed to cuddle you on in the evening
A heart or hearts that are as big as the moon and will love him as much as his foster mum does
Patience to allow him to transition to his new life – it may take him a little time
Oh and Fences.. Great Fences.. Just in case he decides to renew his Frequent Flyer Membership any time.
Please if you are interested in meeting Fred send us a PM with details about yourself so we can see if you and he will be a good match.
Fred is located in Caboolture
