About Dixi
Single dog home due to resource guarding with my food.
Not tested with cats.
Hi my name is Dixi and I am a very lovely red girl. I turn 1 year old on the 24th of April.
I have lots of energy as I am still a puppy. Unfortunately my owners can’t look after me anymore so I need to find a new home.
I will need someone who is prepared to put time in to training, also spending time and looking after me properly. I need to go to obedience school so please don’t apply unless you are willing to put in the work.
I am good inside the house and am house trained. I have lived with young children who I love and I like to play with them. I can get very excited when I see them. I am very well behaved around people of all ages. I am good with other dogs but not when food is involved as I have resource guarding issues when it comes to my tucker.
I like to meet other dogs on walks which sadly there haven’t been many of. I would like to go on more walks, I’m good on when walked on a harness like the ones SRV have got. Generally I get along well with other dogs and I love playing with them.
Like many Stafford’s I tend to jump up on people but training and Obedience school will help me with this.
I am not used to the car but I can get used to it if you take me on short drives somewhere nice.
I am a loyal family dog so I think it’s time for me to get the love and attention I deserve. I will be having my behavioural assessment done in the near future along with some new photos, so I will update my profile then.
So, if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above, and in return I’ll give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for, please go to www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au. Here you will find all the information on the Adoption page, as well as links at the bottom.
Adoption details
If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to
http://www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/index.php/adoption-forms-6
and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan at jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every week to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
