About Miller
Hi there, my name is Miller!
I was surrendered to Lort Smith as my humans separated and neither could take me with them.
My luck hasn’t really improved as I’ve since had several failed ‘foster-to-adopt’ arrangements. I know what you’re thinking – I must be naughty! But it’s not true… Sadly, in each situation, my carers’ living circumstances changed and they were no longer able to keep me.
For the past few weeks I have been in foster care and I’ve been melting hearts all over the place! Apparently I am a little bit of a superstar and everybody loves me! I hear them all say what I great dog I am and they would love to take me on if they could. This is really no surprise to me, as all the staff and volunteers have been saying this since I was surrendered a year ago.
The staff in the shelter are more like my family now. They have been so great and helped me enormously with my dog-to-dog socialisation and obedience. I’m the talk of Lort and will surely be winning an award for ‘most improved’.
I am amazing with my handler focus, loose leash walking and I’m toilet trained. I’m so much better around other dogs these days. My new humans will need to continue working on my obedience and dog-to-dog desensitisation as it would be a shame for me to go backwards.
I absolutely love a good cuddle with my human companions and spending lots of time with them. I would love to be an inside dog and very much a part of the family. It’s preferable I am adopted by someone that is home more often than not as I love company!
Small confession - I am obsessed with water! I love rivers, lakes, the beach, clamshells and muddy puddles - just ask the staff how much I love to play in them!
I am seeking a home with no young children or small animals please - the thrill of the chase is just a little too tempting for me…
I am currently on medication so will be a foster to adopt until these finish – the staff can fill you in.
If you think I could slot into your lifestyle beautifully, please call the Adoption Hub to chat further. As I am currently in a foster home, a meet and greet will need to be scheduled.
