About Missy (Av1013)
Half dog, half cow - introducing Missy, with the most amazing markings we have ever seen! And guess what? her personality is pretty amazing too! Missy is just bursting with love to give and can't wait to find her perfect family to share it with. She's a loyal girl who is affectionate and playful and a joy to have around.
Missy has travelled a long way (from the Great Southern region - near Esperance) in the hopes of finding her perfect home. She came from a busy home with 8 children (yep, eight!) where she got lots of love but not much training. Plus there was the issue of the kids leaving the gate open all the time so Missy got pretty used to taking herself for walks and doing her own thing. Why wouldn't you, really?
It was decided for her own safety that Missy needed a new home where she would be kept safely locked in when not with her humans, and so here we are!
As mentioned, Missy has lived with a LOT of kids before! She's great with children however she is a big strong girl who is used to rough play so we would recommend at this stage that she go to a home with kids aged about 8 and above so that she doesn't accidentally knock over little ones.
Missy knows a couple of basic commands but other than that, she's pretty clueless! She's very smart but has never been taught things. She needs a new family committed to working with her and doing on-going training in areas including commands and lead walking. Oh yes, so we mentioned that she is used to taking herself for walks - which means she's not really that familiar with being restrained while she walks! So someone strong and willing to teach her appropriate lead-manners is required.
She will be a real joy to train and this experience will help her build a terrific bond with her new family.
Missy has had lots of really positive interactions with other dogs in the past but has not lived with another dog before. Because she's quite excitable and tends to forget her manners, Missy is not *yet* suited to going to busy places like the dog park or similar. LONG walks with you are what she craves. Hopefully in the future after more training and bonding with family, Missy will get to be the social butterfly she longs to be.
One last thing to mention - as addressed above, Missy is used to doing a fair bit of wandering. In the past she escaped her yard through an open gate. But she's an agile and athletic lass and could jump fences if she wanted to, so nice high colourbond (or similar) is required.
She prefers a family where someone is home a fair bit to hang out with her or she could even be a cool tradie's dog.
Missy is drop-dead gorgeous. She's head-turningly beautiful outside, and irresistibly loving inside. She will be an amazing companion and deserves the very best.
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
