About Albus ~ Border Collie X (on trial 30/5/18)
Hi my name is Albus! I’m a pretty happy black, white and tan puppy who loves to come in for cuddles with my foster mums. I’m 5 months old and I was told I was born on Melbourne Cup Day - so I’m pretty sure that makes me super lucky too! I’m a Border Collie x (cute) and have a nice shiny coat!
I’m still going through my puppy stage right now and sometimes I forget my manners ... but my mums tell me I will get better with practice. I’m good walking on the lead with my harness. My Mums tell me I’m very smart and learn quickly, although I might need a little more training on how to socialise with stranger dogs as I’ve not been around that many yet.
I currently live with a cat-who sadly doesn’t enjoy my trying to lick her or watch her intently but I’m mostly just curious about her. I get along with my foster brother very well.
I’m not overly fussed on baths but my Mums tell me it’s for the best and I like car rides.
I’m looking for my new furever home, I would like an older sibling, to be allowed in the house and I will need help teaching me more manners. I also need high fences and no escape holes - I can jump pretty high for a little one! I just want to find myself a family who’ll love me and let me be a part of their family. Are you my new family?
As Albus is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's older.
For more information or to meet Albus, please contact his foster carer on Laura on Laura.Sumner@uon.edu.au. Albus is in Islington, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle).
Albus' adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
