Monkey (real name Sid), is a sweet and playful large puppy, looking for a loving and energetic family to call home.
Monkey earned his nickname by behaving like a “cheeky little monkey”. His favourite thing is stealing shoes – so watch out where you leave them.
With his soft fur like a Doberman, and personality traits like a greyhound – he goes from snoozing to zoomies and back to snoozing in the blink of an eye = Monkey is an adorable puppy.
Monkey’s favourites things are: food, cuddling, jumping around, sniffing in the garden, bringing you fun things he finds in the garden (sticks and dead things), sleeping on your bed, and hanging out at the local café or pub with you. As long as he can be near you, or another dog, he is a very happy chap.
On walks, Monkey loves to sniff, darting all over the place, stopping to smell, then running ahead to the next exciting thing. He wears a harness and will learn to walk better on a leash with time and consistent training.
As he is a young pup, Monkey is still learning his manners. He is mostly toilet trained (if the dog door is open he will go outside). He can already sit and drop for treats, and is food obsessed, so further training will be a breeze.
Monkey has only met a limited number of dogs, and hasn’t visited a dog park, due to needing his final vaccinations. He can be very excitable with his large breed foster sisters, and will try to play and jump on them. Monkey enjoys playing “chase-me” around the house, and would suit another larger, confident dog with endless energy to keep him company.
Monkey would suit a household with young children, or an active dog for company. He could get up to no good if left alone for long periods of time, so a house where he is included in everyday activities is best. He is untested with cats.
If you want a playful, happy puppy with a cheeky nature and boundless energy, this is the boy for you
