About Bruce
Bruce seems like a real down to earth, Ozzy Man's Dog. And he loves to chat with you. Yes, chat, he mumbles in his doggy voice at you. It's very cute.
He is a larger kind of dog, and age is estimated at 18mths to 2yrs old. Currently at 27.2kg. He's heavy.
He's bubbly and playful with his humans and other dogs, but when on his own, he'll just laze some hours away waiting for you to come back. Unsure how he would be with cats.
We don't know anything of his history other than he had lived with a little Jack Russel before, and the Jack Russel was the boss of the two. Here in foster care with another Staffy, they are equals.
We don't believe he had been given much direction in life, so he is still a bit puppy like, bouncy and craving of your love and pats on the head. He loves to please you and get told he's a good boy. He needs to be taught the manners that all dogs should have, and he is currently being taught some of these in foster care, but the new family would definitely have to keep that going. He's not bad, just doesn't understand common rules yet, and because of his eagerness to please and be loved, he has so far been easy to train, we have him sitting, and also waiting for his food bowl until we say 'Ok go, good boy.'
He is excellent on a leash, and prefers to loose lead walk. If you pull him tight, he starts to fight you.
He is more an outside dog but we are teaching him the ins and outs of being inside at times. He's learning to stay on his bed inside, not run around the house. We believe he would not be toilet trained.
Because of his size, we wouldn't recommend him around small children as he could unintentionally knock them over with excitement.
He is ready for adoption, and located in Williams Landing, west of Melbourne.
If you have another dog, you must bring your dog to the meet and greet if one is offered to you.
Adoption details
you MUST fill out an Adoption Application form at http://www.all4pawsdogrescue.com.au/forms.html and we forward this on to the carer who will then contact you to organise a meet and greet.
Please give the volunteers time for this process to be completed.
Also please note if you have another dog, that dog MUST attend any meet and greet that may be arraged for you. This is to ensure the dogs will get along.
