About Morty
Mort is a typical Dane; clumsy, loving and goofy as anything. He hasn't quite figured out how large he is but every day he's getting it a little more.
Mort is a social boy, being in foster care with two fellow Danes and a wolfhound girl and showing to be social with them. He would do great in a home with a large play friend.
He sometimes forgets how large he is and will lean and may knock someone over. He is fantastic with kids but forgets his size still so dog savvy kids who don't mind finding the floor at times or kids who are older and more steady would suit him best.
He is best suited to a home WITHOUT cats, pocket pets or small dogs. He is a little too excited by these and does show some prey drive issues with them.
So a home that can effectively socialise him safely away from these is best suited. So NO off leash dog parks or dog beaches due to the unpredictable amount of dogs around.
Mort is fine with his foster carer going to work each day so would easily suit someone who has a usual working schedule. He must be allowed inside at night to be included in the family and he would surely love a cuddle on the lounge we bet.
Mort is crate trained and toilet trained and has shown to have effective basic training. He is good walking on a halti and he is also muzzle trained for future if ever needed.
Standard suburban fencing of at least 5ft is best suited, Mainly for safety and security as mort really isn't one to look like he can escape
Mort is ready for his new home now and is located in the Newcastle area. His adoption fee is $500.
Adoption details
In the ENQUIRY SECTION please explain in LENGTH some basics about yourself/ your life/ your household and what type of life you can provide for one of our rescue animals.
If successful, you would be contacted by phone, where we will talk about your enquiry and potentially organise a meet and greet between you/ your dogs/ your family and the potential candidate
From there, you can either take your animal with you if the meet and greet was successful and their vet work has been completed- or if the vet work hasn't been completed, you must wait until it's finished before taking your new friend home which will be organised between yourself and the foster carer.
Every animal has a 2 week trial period.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
