About Tonka 💙
Introducing Tonka, a handsome little Staffy x Wolfie boy who is sure to win everyone's heart!
Tonka is currently in foster care with his sister Taylah, in a family environment. He is being socialised with the other host dogs in his foster home and adores everyone. We believe that Tonka will be a medium to large dog when fully grown, and will need a good sized yard to accomodate his size and energy level.
If you're looking for a snuggle bug, then this is your man! Tonka loves nothing more than to snuggle with you on the couch and will soak up all the love and attention he can get from his humans. He also enjoys a good rumble and play with his sister, Taylah. Tonka has had interaction with children while in foster care and is quickly learning all about toys and how much fun they can be!
We feel he would suit a home with another doggie friend to keep him company and provide guidance. He will also need a family who will be devoted to spending lots of time with him and treat him as part of the family. If he was to be an only dog, he would need continued socialisation with other dogs during his puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that he grows up to be a well mannered, socialised young man.
We would love to help get you started with that, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina (Central Coast), have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘stay’, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppy’s not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Tonka will be available for adoption once all his vet work is done (May), but meets can be organised prior to this. You can also meet him and his sister Taylah, at the Family Fun Day being held at Mingara this coming Sunday (15th April)! Location: 14 Mingara Drive, Tumbi Umbi between 10am-12pm.
