About Kobi ~ Maltese x Poodle (on trial 26-4-2018))
Hello my name is Kobi and I am a handsome nearly 5 year old Maltese x Poodle with a sweet nature. I love to live the quiet, relaxed life as I am pretty laid back.
I am a ladies' man, literally! Sorry guys but due to some circumstances in my life I find myself not liking men so need to go to a home with females only. Please place me in a safe place if any men visitors come over so I feel safe and secure.
I love belly rubs, cuddles, kisses and gentle pats. My favourite thing is to be with you, laying next to you while you watch TV or on my pillow at your feet.
I am toilet trained and use a doggy door. I would prefer someone home more often than not so will not suit someone that works full time. I can be left for short periods of time. I get so excited when you do return home to me.
My foster mum has spoilt me and I am allowed to sleep on her bed but she said you would never know it as I do not move until the morning.
I haven’t met cats, pocket pets or small children so not sure how I would go. I have lived with another female dog in my life so if you have a small female dog my size for a playmate that would be great. In saying that I am quite happy to be the only fur baby. I bond very quickly to anyone that gives me love, understanding and attention, well only if you are female!!
I am a dream to take for a drive and get very excited to go for a walk but I do tend to pull. My foster mum has been working on this with me and keeps me on a short lead and I have learnt to walk quietly beside her.
Now I have always been a bit of a fussy eater but since in care I have tried lots of different foods. I am like a typical kid and do not like veggies too much but my foster mum keeps giving them to me to keep me healthy. She is also gives me lots of kisses, cuddles and tells me I am a good boy. She has taught me lots of new things and I would benefit from further training. I do tend to bark when someone comes to the door but hey, that is my job, I like to warn you.
My foster mum calls me her little shadow when inside, I like to follow her around but in the backyard I have become independent and love to wander around and explore. I don’t dig.
If you would like to meet me, please contact Deborah my foster mum on 0413 644 028 or email Sharron sstudley3@bigpond.com. I am so looking forward to being your best buddy.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
