About Suri
She is sweetheart and thrives on cuddles and affection. We wish to find her a loving home where she can be her weird and wonderful self.
Suri is short for Surya, which means ‘sun’ in Sanskrit. She has a perpetually sunny disposition and as with all greyhounds, an abundance of endearing quirks. She is almost 8 (birthday April 14), though sometimes behaves as a puppy would, easily chuffed and a keen percussionist tail.
She is happy to chill out for long periods in a comfy spot, but is ready to jump to action whenever ‘walkies’ is suggested.
Suri has an excellent enthusiasm for food, and for walkies and adventures. We have (using treats) taught her to sit, come and wait. Some of her favourite is cheese, small bits of radish, sweet potato and greek yoghurt. We feed her a diet of kibbles (Ivory Coat), fresh meat, veggies and a dash of olive oil / yoghurt with dinner.
She can be a little shy at first to meet someone new, but is quick to make friends. When we first got her she was totally new to the sight of other non-greyhound dogs, but she has come a long way and is very courteous on leash with all dogs (we take care still with small fluffy ones.)
If you’re looking for a companion who is loyal and gentle, with the heart of a puppy and spirit of an adventurer, Suri is your girl.
She is not cat friendly and cannot be home alone for long periods of time unless there is another dog at home.
