About Loki
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Loki Is a comical unique looking boy with a huge personality. It is hard to capture how gorgeous he is from the photos, but imagine a Siberian coloured Labrador shaped head photo-shopped onto a husky body and you may have some idea. He has husky type fur that is uniquely coloured, quite beautiful, with red underneath the black. And his tail is quite magnificent which he has now finally started holding up like a proper husky.
He has a special interest is food so all food must be kept under lockdown and quickly put away off the kitchen bench or he will have it quicker than you can blink an eye. He seems to have got the “double dose” of lab/husky when it comes to food. Yet he is nice and slim and fit, loves to go out for a run and enjoys his twice-daily jog/walk with his foster siblings, an older female husky and frisky hyperactive male husky.
He has the energy levels of a husky but his recall is better generally speaking, though it hasn’t tested it in public places. He has an athletic build and energetic nature that would suit an active family with older children, simply because the size of him combined with youthful exuberance would probably be too much for younger children. Loki is amazing with kids and make an outstanding family pet.
He loves kids and is gentle and just a big boof.
We think he could do well in harness for a bit of fun, if anyone’s interested in trying their hand at dry land sledding. We should also mention that he’s “bilingual”—he can bark like a lab and “woo woo” like a husky. He frequently demonstrates both skills lol
He might be able to cope as an only dog if he had plenty of love and human attention along with opportunities to socialise, but he would do better with another companion, possibly an older calmer dog who still had lots of energy. He’s doing very well with six-year-old male foster sibling, though they did have a few little tussles at the beginning. He always wants to be where the action is and does not like being left alone. One thing is for certain – he would make an excellent family pet.
He can retrieve a ball and enjoys tug-of-war, we expect he’d quite like the water but have not tested that in the middle of winter; and he seems to learn really fast. He’s got his sit, paw and wait commands pretty well down; and with some work on recall he’d probably be better than most huskies.
This boofhead is a very happy and loving polite husky in-the-making. He is crate trained and will put himself to bed in it every night.
If you’re looking for a truly happy, social husky, Loki is worth meeting. He’s a complete love-bug who has won us all over, and he just needs a loving home with a furry friend or two where he can fine-tune his manners and have a truly awesome life.
The usual husky rules apply with no cats or pocket pets, and 6ft high dig-proof fences.
He is a big beautiful boisterous boy with a gorgeous temperament and we hope the perfect forever home will be coming his way soon.
