About Cali ~ Ridgeback x Shepherd (on trial 14-4-2018)
Cali is an approximately 20 months old Ridgeback x Shepherd girl but this is a guess as she was found in the bush when just a pup. Cali is a loving dog and exceptionally smart who learns very quickly. She already is trained to sit, come, wait, stay, drop, roll, paw shake, fetch, give, on your mat and leave it. Someone willing to spend time with her to extend her training would be ideal and who is dog experienced.
Cali loves playing with other dogs and engages in a friendly way except if another dog tries to take her stick or ball. She soon lets them know she doesn’t want to share. Having another friendly dog Cali’s size as a playmate would be great for her. She plays well with both sexes.
Cali is an active dog and is great going for a walk and taking to the dog park but does get very overwhelmed in crowded areas such as sporting events.
Cali for some reason struggles with teenage boys and some men especially when carrying something or operating a machine so we feel that Cali would be better in a quiet environment and not a busy household.
Cali was sleeping inside on a trampoline bed before she came into care, no soft beds for this girl as they become a toy for her. Since being in care she has been sleeping in an undercover area happily with her foster brother and sister. Cali would need to be allowed inside with the family when they are home.
Cali would be best suited to a country lifestyle where things are relaxed and quiet. An older couple who are retired or semi retired would be ideal for her.
If you would like to meet Cali, please contact Sharron who is taking all enquiries for her on 0423 331 057 or email sstudley3@bigpond.com. Cali is located in Medowie NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Cali’s adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
