About Astro
š¶ASTROš¶
5 year - Male
Cocker Spaniel
$275
š ASTRO is a very friendly Cocker Spaniel with lots of energy. He thoroughly enjoys going for walks and walks well on a lead, he will even carry it to you if you put it down. ASTRO gets along well with everyone he meets, he particularly loves company and can become very attached. He took a little while to settle into care with the other dogs but is slowly becoming comfortable and play buddies.
ASTRO is very comfortable being indoors and prefers to be inside with you but is ok to be put outside when you go out, etc with minimal sooking. He can sit on command and is very well behaved. No food aggression, waits for his turn for food. Big thing - ASTRO is very very obsessed with balls, he will carry it around all day and keep putting it in front of you waiting for you to play. He also gets possessive of them - and had a little scuffle with another dog while in care. He is completely fine with his carer taking his ball from his mouth though. They have confiscated them all and take 1 out a few times a day for a play and then put away again to prevent any disagreements. We think he will be fine with another dog but would need to be a submissive dog that won't compete for the ball! ASTRO is untested with cats. He will bark to alert you if people around but not continous and otherwise pretty quiet.
We believe that ASTRO would be best suited to an active family/couple or even active retired couple as he has lots of energy! He would love daily walks and ball throwing and would be good with school aged children and above but wouldnāt recommend him with young kids.
ASTRO is going to be a popular boy so please keep all of his needs in mind if applying. As we are volunteers we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Adoption fee is $275 and includes desexing, microchipping, vaccinations, flea and intestinal worm treatments. To express interest in adopting ASTRO, please fill in the online enquiry form located here - http://www.capricornanimalaid.org.au/adopt-a-dog-form
