Hello Handsome!

Meet Dharkan – he’s dark, he’s handsome, he’s not that tall, but he is one great dog. If you’re looking for a fun and loving companion to go on adventures with then look no further. Dharkan is a beautiful boy who makes the most of every day. He absolutely loves people and he wants to say hi to everyone he sees as they might give him pats and be his new bestie. This gorgeous boy loves attention, tummy rubs and pats. He also thoroughly enjoys a game of tug of war or soccer which makes him very excited but the ball ends up a casualty a lot of the time! When playtime is over he is more than happy to join you on the couch to watch TV and get some more love.

Doggie friends are awesome in Dharkan’s mind. He has a great nature and is very social with other dogs. He is more submissive and is definitely a lover, not a fighter. At the dog park he runs around with the biggest grin on his face and enjoys running around with the other dogs and playing wrestling games. He is relatively active so will need daily exercise to keep him happy and healthy throughout his life. Trips to dog social places like parks and beaches is also a great way for him to burn his energy with friends.

Dharkan not only has the good looks but he also has the brains. He knows the basics – sit and drop, and he’s learning to wait before he gets fed. At the off lead park he is really good off lead and doesn’t run off. He also walks well on lead and doesn’t pull once the initial excitement wears off. Dharkan is toilet trained and travels well in the car. Any further training a family would like to do with him would be a bonus. Mostly he just needs to learn to be a bit calmer and less excited but that will come with age.

We are looking for a home where Dharkan will be a part of the family and included in the daily activities and outings. He would love a home with another friendly and playful doggy companion but this is not essential. Being left alone at home is ok with him but that does mean that he needs lots of attention and exercise when you are around and he should be left with some fun things to do and play with so he doesn’t get bored. He should be allowed inside to be with the family as he thrives off having companionship, and he needs a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. Dharkan is going to be a great addition to a family who are looking for a fun and active adventure partner that can join them on family outings.
