About Girlie
Girlie has been waiting for a home for a while now. What do you know about handling a dog with diabetes ? Yes she needs 2 needles a day. She needs care in feeding her as need to keep weight down, for her good. I have never given anyone a needle but I am good with it now. She equates needle with a treat and gladly accepts it. Girlie is at her ideal weight just under 10kg. Loves a cuddle and sitting on your knee. Is not small or medium size somewhere between. Loves & plays with foster puppies.
Girlie, Beagle/Pug cross, ex breeding dog, very shy and very well behaved, diagnosed with diabetes which is under control at present, twice daily insulin treatment. Girlie needs a special person that understands her diabetes. Now house trained but rarely lapses due to condition (trained to use puppy pads overnight). Eats very well has a controlled diet. Loves to sleep on foot of the bed. Does not like storms. Lead trained likes to be walked and meet people and their dogs. Gets on well with resident cat, dog & other foster dogs, NO pocket pets rabbits etc or poultry/birds. Girlie is a cross Pug Beagle. While have excluded under 5's she is good with small children if they are supervised. Suitable for a part time worker depending on hours worked.
Medical notes
Diabetic insulin treated. Costs approx $40 insulin & needles per month.
While she is now healthy needs glucose check to make sure she stays that way about every 3/4 weeks.
