About Frankie
SINGLE DOG HOME
Hi my name is Frankie, sadly I need a new home because I’ve decided I don’t like living with the other dog in the household.
My family are heartbroken and they’ve tried everything to solve my problem. I’m ok when I see another dog whilst walking down the street and even when I’m sitting at a cafe, I’m just not good living with other dogs.
I’m house trained and have had some obedience training but would like to go to obedience school with my new owners so they learn leadership skills with me.
My owners have written some info. on me which is really useful, SRV said they wish all owners would give this much information to help us dogs find the perfect home. I will be getting my behavioural assessment done as soon as I can and more photo’s.
Here are my owners notes below.
Frankie LOVES balls, small and large but be careful when selecting them as she can ruin them if they are not strong enough. We find the orange “Chuck-It” balls the best. She also has a large ball she chases around the paddock that is indestructible. It’s an Aussie Dog Staffy Ball from K9 Pro
During thunder and lightening we keep her close by us, usually sit with her and try to calm her down but also show her there is nothing to worry about. Once while we were out an unexpected storm came and she ripped one of the curtains trying to get out of the house. She has also run away once during a storm- again when a storm wasn’t expected and we were out. This time she was outside.
Commands she knows;
Sit. This is used whenever we want her to sit but also before she can have her food. ‘sit’ then wait for the ‘okay’ command
Wait- I use this when crossing roads- she has to stop and wait till I give the ‘Okay” command to proceed. .
Okay- this is the command for everything that is ok to do e.g.eat, walk, go.
UH-UH this is the command for her to not do something e.g jump up on people, or any other behavior or action that is not ok.
Stay here- though this is not 100% successful.
Frankie is a beautiful, loving, loyal girl. She loves walks, playing with balls and snuggling up on the couch at night. She would love to sleep with you at night. Frankie needs to be with someone who is home a lot though she can be independent and is happy spending time on her own. She also likes to swim in her shell pool on hot days.
She loves company and being with her people. She is equally happy in a small home or large and will adapt to any new surroundings as long as she is exercised regularly. She loves her food and treats but is very well mannered around food and won’t pester you to feed her. She is very patient.
She loves to go on walks and sniff everything. She likes to say hello to other dogs she meets along the way but if her owner says she’s not allowed to then she is happy to walk on. She likes to sit and watch the people go by if you stop for a coffee.
Frankie has been around other dogs but needs to be in a single dog home. She has had regular visits from cousins but has never lived with cats or children. However, children have visited the home and after a few minutes she is used to them and not interested any more.
Frankie is terrified of thunder and lightening. When these occur she needs to be reassured that everything is ok and nothing will happen to her. Sitting with her and patting her is a good thing to do. But don’t molly coddle her or she wont learn that its ok. Take her outside on a leash and show her let her see it’s all ok. She might bolt if she is outside alone when a storm starts.
She has a Staffy ball that she plays with for hours.
So if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above, and, in return, I’ll give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for! Please go to www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au where you will find the Adoption Application. Please make sure you read all the information on the Adoption page, as well as the links at the bottom.
