About Murray
TO MEET OR ADOPT MURRAY, PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION FORM: http://pawfectpals.com.au/adoption-pals/apply/
Murray is a gentle, quiet and well-mannered boy of about 18 months age. We believe Murray is a failed stock dog, as being in a suburban environment has been quite the change for him. He has now had time to adjust and he is loving being a home-dog. This means he is also toilet trained.
On a ‘top three things that Murray likes’ list you will find chasing water, snoozing and going for walks. If you can’t find him he is probably on your bed (he recently discovered the simple joy of soft beds!). Murray enjoys taking strolls and is very gentle on the leash. He likes to dawdle and sniff everything, so he is usually lagging behind you. So far, he has travelled well in the car, although does like to be in the backseat rather than the boot. I strongly believe Murray would love beaches, if he saw one (oh boy, think of all the smells and the waves to stalk!).
Murray is a very good sit-at-the-front-of-a’ pub or café dog. He is happy to settle down and to have a snooze while his humans do their thing. He is not particularly bothered by other people or dogs passing by, just happy to be watching the world go by.
Murray is a very gentle eater. He is not a jumpy dog and has not shown sign of boisterousness (he is a tummy rub type of dog). So far, Murray has interacted just fine with both male and female dogs. He currently lives peacefully with three other dogs, with no issue. He prefers a mature, sensible greeting and plays when the mood takes him.
Murray loves a quiet, stable household where he has the space and room to take things as they come. He would suit a household of older people or a single person. Murray is such an independent sort he would probably be just fine in a house with no other dog. He has not been tested on a cat but would likely be fine after introductions. Murray does not seek out the affections or attention of small children but he does tolerate their presence. He currently lives in the home with a very affectionate toddler and he largely ignores her.
He has recently discovered toys and enjoys a bit of a frisky chew on soft toys. He likes to play with his humans, but he is still very new to the game. As he settles in to home life his frisky and playful side is emerging.
Murray has been tested on sheep and appears to be a started worker. He works at a solid, steady pace on sheep with no bite and expends no more energy than what is required to move them as his handler requires. With further development Murray would be a solid, dependable sheep dog for a hobby farmer. With patience and love he would develop more joy in his sheep work.
