About Fizzy ~ Dachshund x Kelpie (on trial 8/4/2018)
Meet Fizzy! Just like her name, Fizzy is a bubbly and loving 10 month old girl. She is the best blend of Dachshund x Kelpie, more Dachshund, and charms everyone she meets with her loving personality and excited whole body wiggle.
Fizzy loves cuddles, playtime and long walks. She is a big hearted puppy that just wants to be with her family. She would be best suited to a family with older kids where she can get the attention and training needed for an energetic dog. She will need someone home most of the time as she can get a little anxious when she is alone. She has been doing some training to help her become more confident and to entertain herself when being left alone. At first when meeting new people Fizzy likes to ‘check in’ on everyone in the house but she becomes more relaxed as she settles into family life and routine. She gets excited when she meets new people and will try and jump up to give them kisses.
Fizzy is good with other dogs, but hasn’t realised her strength for her size. A dog of similar size or bigger would make a great playmate and companion for her, however not necessary. She has also lived with cats.
Fizzy is an enthusiastic and fast learner. She is toilet trained and will let you know if she needs to go
outside. She is currently learning some basic commands like sit, stay and lay down. She walks well on the lead and is inquisitive on walks and can get a little excited to meet people and dogs.
Fizzy is long and strong, curious and charming. Like most Dachshunds she prefers to live inside and
snuggle by your side. She can’t wait to meet her forever family!
For more information or to meet Fizzy, please contact her foster carer Mel on meltarrattcross@hotmail.com. Fizzy is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW and is not available for adoption interstate.
Fizzy’s adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
