Verdello is a super sweet and affectionate little boy who just loves to give you kisses. He is happiest when he is right next to you or on your lap so he can shower you in love. Attention, pats, a good old bum scratch – he likes them all. If you are looking for a companion to be by your side no matter what you are doing then this little shadow is definitely a match to consider. Verdello can be a little shy with strangers but warms up quickly to people in the home, soon adding them to his list of best friends. He has a beautiful thick coat that does not shed but will require regular grooming and brushing to keep it from matting.

Although not socialised before coming into care, Verdello naturally has a great nature and is good with other dogs. He has happily been living with a number of other dogs of varying ages and sizes while in care. His preference in doggy friends are those that are more calm as the boisterous ones scare him a bit. Currently, he enjoys daily walks at the off lead dog park and is growing in confidence to leave his carer’s side and explore more. He will say hello to other polite dogs and is great off lead, always being near his carer. Verdello will need some regular exercise to keep him happy and healthy throughout his life.

This little boy is well mannered in the home, toilet trained, knows how to sit and walks nicely on the lead. Verdello likes to curl up on the couch with you or sit on the bed. He doesn’t necessarily require any further training but any training given will strengthen the bond between him and his new owner. Being little, he does like to jump up to get your attention. He is gradually starting to learn not to do this but it will need some ongoing work. He travels well in the car and is a pleasure to take for outings.

We are looking for a home where Verdello will be a part of the family and included in the daily activities. He will require a home where someone is home more often than not, though he is ok left alone for some periods of time. A home with other pets is fine for him as he is dog and cat friendly, but if there is another dog then it needs to be a gentler and quieter character. He has lived with a child in the past and was good, but may be a little too jumpy for some those who are really young or those who lack confidence with dogs. He would also be best suited to a household which is on the quieter side who will allow him indoors and that will allow him to sleep inside. Verdello will be a great addition to a family and they will be lucky to have him.
