About Boz
TO MEET OR ADOPT BOZ, PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION: http://pawfectpals.com.au/adoption-pals/apply/
Boz is a special boy. Until coming into care with Pawfect Pals, I doubt he had ever experienced anything kind in his short life. While Boz loves other dogs, and has learnt to be a good boy around chickens, he will still sometimes bark and chase livestock and kangaroos. However there's no real intent, just the drive. He has great recall if you can whistle. Therein are the simple facts about Boz.
Now, a closer look. He can be fearful of new people, and noises made suddenly. With time he is developing more trust, but can still have his hairy scary moments. He can now sit and is developing very nice manners at mealtime-though is quite the bottomless pit. If he gets startled or feels intimidated he will bark at you, but has no bite in him. He will come inside when invited and at night, will lay on his bed and sleep all night through. He is perfectly house trained and never has any accidents. Once he is settled you can even get him to lay with you on the couch and he will enjoy a cuddle. At times when outside, he whines, as he fights his own inner demons while at the same time wanting to come to you. He loves playing with other dogs and loves toys and visiting the dam, to plonk himself down and cool off in Summer. He likes to steal things and is a very adept kleptomaniac. If you value it keep it out of reach. He follows behind you outside and paws at your legs, but then sometimes still retreats when you turn around. He runs joyously to meet you at the gate when you come home, and will lick your hands and kiss your face, but still has moments of being uncertain. Boz walks beautifully on the lead, and has just learnt how to hi-five! He is still wary of getting in cars, but once you pop him in, he is quiet and well behaved.
It breaks my heart that such a young dog could have been so broken, and yet I can see already that, with time and patience, he will find peace with himself.
Boz will need a home with a regular routine, preferably in a rural setting, with good fencing to prevent him chasing things he shouldn't. He may also do ok in a quieter suburb with a large yard to play in. A canine friend to play with will be a necessity.
He will be available only to a home with the patience, love and willingness to help him finish his journey. It is very, very easy to lose your heart to Boz. x
