About Benson ~ Pugalier (on trial 24-3-2018)
Hi, my name is Benson. I am a handsome, intelligent and very affectionate, just over 3 year old Pugalier (Pug x Cavalier King Charles Spaniel).
I thrive on cuddles, pats, absolutely love human company and snuggles. All I ask for, in my forever home, is lots of love, understanding and a bit of patience. My foster mum adores me and knows me well and wants the very best for me which sounds great to me.
I will hand over to my foster mum, Deborah, to fill you in on a bit more about me.
Benson has had some trauma in his young life but since being in care I have found him to relax quickly after a few days of transition and bonds well in a short period of time. He needs a quiet, peaceful environment and to be the only dog, with no cats, birds or pocket pets and no young children, older, teenage children would be fine.
Benson does need over 5 ft fencing that is secure and no areas to dig under. He would also love a family where someone is home a lot.
Benson is toilet trained and is strictly an indoor dog and must be allowed to sleep inside either on his bed next to yours or preferably for him, on your bed.
Benson gets over excited when walking or when he sees another dog therefore must wear a good, well fitted harness as he pulls. With further training this will subside and he will be a pleasure to walk. He does bark at strangers and other dogs. This is a work in process and I am sure will also ease with positive training.
Benson is not a fussy eater, learns new commands quickly and loves a car ride. He is an adorable, smoochy little guy that in a short time in his forever home will bring lots of happiness. If you can give him the love that he deserves, he will give you so much more in return.
For more information or to meet Benson, please contact his foster mum Deborah on 0413 644 028 or omplete the adoption questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx and send it to Sharron on sstudley3@bigpond.com. Benson is in foster care in Kotara South, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Benson’s adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
