About Sophie DB311
Hi, I’m Sophie! I’m a 9 month old Ridgeback cross and boy oh boy am I excited to find a forever home! I absolutely adore humans and will be by your side morning, noon and night. Just a little hello will get my tail wagging and I’ll run over to give you a lick in exchange for a pat or an ear scratch. I’m not fussy about men or women – if you introduce yourself to me and help me trust you, I’ll be your best friend for life. I’m sure I’d get on with children too but I am a pretty exuberant large dog so I might be a bit too intense for younger kids. Teenagers sound great though!
I love going for car rides, playing fetch, meeting new dogs and people and I love a good bone or stuffed Kong that I can really get my teeth in to. I don’t like being ignored – if you’re at home please please please let me in the house with you! I do understand that people have to go to work and I’m actually pretty happy to doze the day away, especially if you leave me some tasty, engaging treats. I’ve been living with another dog and it’s great to have his company during the day – I think I would get pretty bored without him!
I’m only young and there are a few things I’m still working on! I am toilet trained and can hold my bladder overnight, but sometimes when I get really excited (like when you come home from work) I just forget to hold on. I’m getting better though, and if you let me greet you outside then no worries! I also have managed to jump a tall gate in order to be with my foster carer. But now that I’ve settled in a bit and know her routine I’m much more relaxed and happy to stay home.
So if you’ve got room for a big dog with a bigger heart, please come and meet me! My dream home would be a place where I am included in the family and allowed inside whenever you are home, including at night. I’ll probably be okay with full time workers, especially if you have a playful male dog for me to hang out with during the day. I’m still a puppy and have so much potential to be an adoring, loyal and playful member of your family for many years to come.
**Essential Information: Sophie must be rehomed with a playful male dog of similar size **
