About Ozzy the Bulldog
Ozzy was rescued from a shelter in Melbourne after 3 long months where they didn't understand his needs as a bulldog. Ozzy suffers from head tremors and this was misdiagnosed as epilepsy, he was heavily medicated but this didn't actually help him. Ozzy found the shelter environment stressful (as would most bulldogs).
Ozzy loves getting out for walks, but no longer than 10-15 minutes or he will lie on the pavement like a big lump and not move. Ozzy also likes chilling, lots of cuddles and kisses, and spending time in indoors in the aircon. Ozzy is well behaved in the house when you aren't home, except indoor plants sitting on the ground can be very confusing for a bulldog.
Since being weaned off those terrible meds, Ozzy has found his inner puppy and loves playing with toys. He has a favourite teddy and a few Kongs. Ozzy looooooves food. Probably a little too much, and he thinks he is entitled to every human meal he sees / smells.
Outside of the home, Ozzy gets on well with other dogs on lead. He can be a little too focused on any food he sees / smells, we would recommend a new home without young kids or any other animals so that his food obsession doesn't cause issues.
Absolutely no cats, chooks or small fluffy animals for Ozzy please. He quite likes 'helping' in the garden on a weekend, but is absolutely petrified of the vacuum cleaner.
Ozzy would love a home where his humans are around more often than not. He should be indoors the majority of the time (in the aircon if it's a hot day), with access to go outside to a secure yard as he pleases. Laying on the sofa while you stroke Ozzy & rubbing his belly is a definite favourite past-time.
Ozzy is 30kg of love, snuggles & entertainment. Are you Ozzy's forever home?
OZZY is currently fostered in Melbourne and we would like for him to be adopted by someone within a couple of hours driving distance. If you like would like to adopt Ozzy please send the #bullycrew at Mini's Bulldog Rescue Club a message and submit an application https://www.minisbulldogrescue.com/apply
Medical notes
Ozzy is microchipped, desexed and up to date with vaccinations. He had surgery previously to trim his soft palate and widen his nostrils to make breathing easier. Ozzy does suffer from a few short head tremors a week, they don't hurt him and if you touch his nose in the middle it stops them.
