The day has finally come! Frankie is ready to start looking for her perfect forever home, and man does she deserve it. She was desexed this week and weighed in at 3.2kg, which is double her body weight when she first came into care.
We first met our girl Frankie many weeks ago and she left us completely horrified, but instantly in love. She came to us from a pound in NSW after being found locked inside a council waste facility and was starving to death. Frankie was so incredibly emaciated that we could see and feel every bone in her body, and she looked like she was going to break at any moment. We rushed her into our vets to get her looked at immediately as we didn't even know if our poor girl was going to pull through. A blood test revealed that she was very anemic, almost needing a blood transfusion if her red blood cells didn't start to multiply quickly. We also noticed that she was showing neurological signs and had a head tremor from being so incredibly run down.
After weeks of slow feeding of high calorie food, multiple vet checks, and lots and lots of TLC, our baby girl is ready to find her forever home. A home that will love her forever, never give up on her like her last home, and a home that will provide her with endless amounts of love and cuddles. Frankie just wants to be with you, sitting with you while you watch tv, sleeping on the end of your bed at night, and pretty much watching your every move. Oh and don't forget her new home must have lots and lots of toys as Frankie is reliving a missed kitten hood, and loves playing with any toy she can find.
MEDICAL NOTES:
Frankie was starved to the point where she almost died. She is now healthy and at a great body weight. She is still getting used to having a decent food supply and eats as if she is still starving. She eats her food as fast as she can as she is still in the mind set that if she doesn't eat it quickly, it will be gone. She can't be fed an unlimited food supply as she will eat so much that she will make herself sick, and instead needs to be fed set meals twice a day. Frankie shares her food bowls with two younger cats and never has any issues of aggression, she actually becomes submissive and gives up her food if she gets worried. Although she does beg for food, she is learning quickly that she can't eat whatever she sees.
Get in touch if you would like to meet Frankie, or any of our other rescue animals.
