About Sophie and Lilly ~ Maltese (on trial 8-4-18)
Sophie and Lilly are petite Maltese crosses who are 10 years old. They are bright and gentle little dogs and are a bonded pair and will need to be adopted together. Sophie the larger out of the two is 3.8kgs and Lilly is 2.9kgs.
For 10 years old, both Sophie and Lilly are in good health and are still quite active. Their favourite thing to do is to go for a walk although more a stroll then a walk but they just love it. Sophie and Lilly get very excited and will bark for joy if they think they are going out. They are not really into toys but like to spend time playing together so entertain themselves that way.
Both Sophie and Lilly are dog friendly and are currently in care with 4 other small dogs. They are also cat friendly. They currently sleep on their dog beds on the bedroom floor or in the lounge room.
Sophie and Lilly like nothing more when it is quite time to curl up on your lap while you watch TV. They are very content to sit at your feet while you are on your computer and enjoy their day sleeps.
Now Sophie and Lilly were not toilet trained when they came into care but are very responsive to the training they are receiving in this area. They will need continual guidance in this area and if you have a doggy door that would be a bonus.
For more information or to meet Sophie and Lilly, please contact their foster carer Anita on anita.waters@me.com. Sophie and Lilly are in foster care in Swansea, NSW and are available for adoption interstate.
Sophie and Lilly’s adoption fee is $300 and they are desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
