About Sunny *On Trial in His New Home*
*SUNNY IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HISNEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Introducing Sunny the ball crazy, happy, eager, fun-loving soon to be 9 year old!
Recently surrendered to us, through no fault of his own, Sunny is a very enthusiastic dog with the energy of a young 3 year old when it comes to chasing his beloved favourite toy THE BALL!
Being a mixed breed of Labrador x Border Collie, this big boy is looking for that loving home where he can wrap his paws around your heart and melt you with his adorable chocolate eyes. Sunny is an indoor-outdoor dog who is way past that destructive ‘puppy chew everything’ stage and is quite happy to sit quietly at your feet curled up in front of the tv, with a ball in his mouth of course! He comes house trained….wow this fella has EVERYTHING going for him….”what a catch” we hear you say!
Sunny is looking for a home where his humans will have the time to spend with him on a daily basis; a run and/or a swim is his all-time favourite thing, and he has been very fortunate in his foster home to be able to jump in the back of the ute, with his 3 furry buddies, and go for a Murray River adventure each day, (yes with a ball or 3!) - he’s an excellent swimmer too!
Being a bigger boy, Sunny would be better suited to a family with older children who can play nicely with him and, you guessed it, throw that ball……and what’s more he’ll show his gratitude by returning it to you every time! Or perhaps you’re a tradie looking for a work buddy or a bestie to go fishing with; did we mention he loves a ute?
Sunny isn’t always dog friendly on their first meet (but only on-lead), as he does tend to have a little growl when approached, however after a sniff or two he thinks “hey this is safe and ok now we can be mates” . In his previous life Sunny was an only dog though lived with a dog-friendly cat and they got along fine.
Being a Lab cross Sunny LOVES his food, so is easily trained, however being a more mature fella he has this all nutted out, so he sits on command, will wait for his food at mealtimes, walks really well on a lead, has great recall off-lead, doesn’t often bark (unless a bird flies into his backyard so he’s potentially not bird friendly), and he will wait at the front door on command for his walk……whoa what a fantastic all-rounder, does this boy get any better??? We think not!!
Sunny is a very affectionate gentleman who will greet you in the mornings with many slobbery and quite loud licks/kisses, he doesn’t have a favourite doggy bed, so tends to just find a comfy carpet spot either by the bedside or in the lounge area when it’s bedtime.
So if you’ve always wanted a loyal and loving mature mate to play fetch with please download and complete a SARG Dog Application form by following this link: http://www.sarg.net.au/adopt-a-pet/
Medical notes
Sunny is desexed, microchipped, C3 vaccinated (until July 2020) and wormed.
DOB: 5/06/09.
Sunny came to us with a mild skin allergy which a Grain-Free diet has certainly helped – he now only gets the occasional itch.

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
