About Thomas
*ON TRIAL* I’m not sure the world quite deserves a diamond like Thomas. Thomas is a sparkly little gem of a dog who refracts love and kindness wherever he goes and the brightest light shines sharply upon his special person. If the shadow of their absence should cloud this beam, Thomas’ world turns to darkness.
Therefore, this darling boy must find someone who has the capability to remain squarely in the warm glow of Thomas’ spotlight.
Like most Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Thomas’ heart pumps the heavy burden of compassion with a taxing frequency. I sometimes wonder if it’s this duress that contributes to the frequent early wear. Thomas has a grade 3/4 heart murmur. This does not affect him in any way currently, but he may require medication in the future.
Thomas is a sweetheart who loves snuggles on the couch, receiving gentle pats and having his warm, velvety ears fondled. He also loves to go for walks and expresses this with funny little whines when the lead makes an appearance. In his quiet little world, he gleefully takes in all the intriguing smells and delightful sights that this wonderful world has to offer.
A few days ago, it was to be Thomas’ time to leave this world, but the world didn’t want him to go just yet. Thomas has more joy to bring and more love to give. Thomas was saved for a reason. Perhaps that reason is you?

Medical notes
Thomas has an asymptomatic grade 3/4 heart murmur.
Thomas has also had a dental with an extraction of a slab fractured pre-molar. A small sebaceous adenoma (benign follicular growth) was removed from his forehead at the same time.
He is otherwise fit and healthy.
Adoption details
Please email me a little bit about yourself. I do not operate on a first-in-best-dressed basis. Instead, my aim is to find the most suitable forever home for the animals in my care.
Your email should include details about who lives at your home, both humans and animals and what their daily schedules and living arrangements are like. It should include details about your previous dogs and a thorough break down of the house rules you will have for this pet as well as what their typical day will look like.
It may take a couple of weeks to process the applications. Please try to be patient. All applicants will receive a response - but it won’t be an immediate one.
If your application seems promising you will be contacted for a telephone interview. Should this be successful you will be invited to a meet and greet and asked to send photos of your property.
Should the meet and greet end favourably, you may pay the adoption fee, sign some paperwork and take the pet on a two week trial during which time you will be asked to provide regular updates.
During this trial period the pet remains the property of Onyx Rescue and adoption will only be finalised following a successful trial.
