About Kewdie (CaV18-62)
Hello, my name is Kewdie, because I was found in Kewdale and I'm a total cutie, and because apparently my foster mum wanted to butcher the English language!
Anyway, I'm a super handsome guy. I'm kind of almost ginger but not - I'm told my colouring is called champagne, which sounds really fancy. I know champagne is something people get when they're celebrating for some reason and adopting me would definitely be a reason to celebrate!
I was born at an industrial site where it is very unsafe for kitties to live. I had to hide all the time to stay away from the machinery and I was not handled by people at all until I was caught when I was about 10 weeks old. Because of this, it has taken me quite a lot to learn that I don't have to be totally terrified of people and to be honest, I am still pretty freaked out by you guys. You're so tall and big!
But with my foster mum I'm now a happy, smoochy, purry little chap.
I've been in foster care for a LOOONG time now. I'm not complaining, I promise - the food is great, I'm nice and warm with comfy beds to sleep on, scratchy poles to climb and people to love me. I've developed so much confidence in my time in foster care! I'm an absolutely divine little guy with a soft and gentle nature and endless amounts of love to give. Once I know you, I'll settle comfortably on your lap and just make myself at home there.
I'm not a cat who will own your home. I'll probably always be shy and unsure with visitors and new people, and I'm not suitable to small children (or people of any age!) who want to pick me up and carry me around and make lots of noise in the process. I'm not so much scared anymore, nowadays I'm just cautious and calm. My foster mum can't stop raving about my personality, really.
Come and meet me, so you can appreciate me for yourself!
I love other cats and would be very happy with a feline companion. Dogs are fine too, as long as they don't want to chase me and you introduce us gradually.
I'll also need to be an indoor-only kitty because the outside world is BIG and super scary, and my pale pink nose is rather prone to skin cancer. But that means all the more chances for us to get to snuggle.
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
