About Ben
Ben is a 11 month old desexed male German Shepherd who is in care at Kurri Kurri and is learning life skills.
This handsome lad spent most of his young puppy life chained and unloved.
We are wanting to change all that so Ben is on the road to a new life where he can be a valued family member and have the attention this affectionate young dog deserves.
Ben is playful and engaging with the other rescue shepherds. Now fully house trained he is voice responsive and in time will have his basic commands well in hand. Ben is definitely NOT suitable for a home with cats, pocket pets, and even will chase birds so he does display the prey drive of the Shepherd breed.
So if you are looking for a young affectionate Shepherd then you must ensure he has inclusion in his new home. Also lots of daily walks and interaction with his new family. No young children for this boy he is too bouncy and will knock them over.
We are wanting a committed couple or family who have owned a shepherd before, are full of experience with this breed and their requirements.
If you think you can give Ben a new home, please select the orange button and enquire about him. You will then be sent an application form to complete.
Medical notes
Ben is desexed fully immunised and is flea and worm treated.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
