About Jess ~ Kelpie X (on trial 16-4-2018)
Jess is an enthusiastic, energetic approximately 6-8 month old female Kelpie X Doberman (we think). She LOVES showing her affection, always present for a cuddle, a play, a pat and company. She enjoys spending time with her foster brother going to the park, on walks and generally making lots of friends.
Jess would suit an active lifestyle, as she is of working dog breed and has the legs to move her. She has adored the company of her foster brother, always playing with him when at home. However, she does also relish her time curling up into a tiny little ball on the lounge, our bed, or her bed and sleeping soundly - with a couple cute snores thrown in for good measure.
Jess doesn’t mind a shower or bath and has a beautiful naturally shiny short hair coat. She is a very switched on, smart girl who has adapted to being an indoor/outdoor dog very quickly! She will now sit, especially at meal time, knows what a ball is and loves chasing them around.
Jess wants all of the cuddles, ALL OF THEM. And she’ll give you kisses too! She was rescued from a rural pound and has opened up quickly to be a beautiful, loving girl. She has also managed to gain a little bit of weight but is still underweight.
Jess is the light of the room, friendly to one and all - adults, children, toddlers, babies, other dogs but has a tendency to chase flies! She is unwilling to be broken by the sadness of her prior life and will bring love, entertainment, company and so so so much light into anyone’s life.
For more information or to meet Jess, please contact her foster carer Hilary at hilary.leotta@live.com.au. Jess is located in Valentine (Lake Macquarie/Newcastle area) and is available for adoption interstate.
Jess’ adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
